What do you pay special attention to when judging films?

"For me, the first 30 seconds will decide if I am interested in the film. I want to be immersed. If you can do that, I am your man."

Can you discern a different trend or focus in short films that have been made in the past years?

"What I like is the diversity of films and stories from all over the world. Filmmaking has been democratized, that means it is becoming easier to create films. Therefore you can get the whole world on the screen right in front of you."

What is your favorite short film and why?

"I watched a Wonderfull Welsh/Irish short called Pale Saint, by Rhys Marc Jones, at the Galway Film Fleadh. It was a story about a young girl struggling with her teen pregnancy, beautifully shot and very tender in many ways."
