Organised by CineSud, the Dutch Film Talents to Cannes program unites the selected participants with filmmakers and industry professionals from all around the world. Furthermore, we help the talents to showcase their work, and spark new creative ideas. Elevate your presence on the international stage, and harness inspiration to fuel your filmmaking journey.
Dutch Film Talents to Cannes 2024
Participation for Dutch Film Talents to Cannes 2024 is open for every new filmmaker from the Netherlands. The selected filmmakers will present themselves and their short film during special events at SFC Rendez-Vous Industry and receive accreditation to visit the Cannes Film Festival and Marché du Film from May 17-May 22, 2024.
Since 2018 the CineSud Dutch Film Talents to Cannes program has been a great success giving new filmmakers the chance to:
meet & mingle with film professionals from the Netherlands and around the world by attending networking events and group meetings;
network with key players in the industry;
learn pitching & networking skills, perfect presentation skills;
present themselves and their current projects and projects in development to producers, distributors and sellers;
build new relationships with potential producers/writers/directors/fund representatives etc. for future projects;
attend the SFC Breakfast, one-on-one (coaching) sessions, masterclasses & workshops at the SFC Rendez-vous Industry.

Justus van den Elsen
Dutch Talents to Cannes project | Behind the door / Achter de deur
Justus van den Elsen is a Dutch filmmaker and co-director of production company Fabel Film in Tilburg. His work spans from commercials to short fiction films and documentaries. Van den Elsen's work has been selected for several talent programs such as the TalentHub NEXT (2020-2021), Netflix Writers Room (2022), and Filmfonds Cypher (2022). His low-budget folk horror short "De Gloeiige" (2019) premiered at Imagine Film Festival and was screened at various international festivals.

Shanice Kamminga
Dutch Talents to Cannes project | Everything before us / Alles van voor ons
Shanice Kamminga is a director and screenwriter with a BSc in psychology. She initially started an acting career but her focus soon landed on directing instead, with a particular interest in directing actors and child actors. Shanice was winner of the Netflix New Voices Script Contest (2021). Her short film project "Other" took part in the CineSud development program of Directors Village in 2023 after which Shanice went on to write, produce and direct it. The film was nominated for the Meliès d'Argent at the 2023 edition of the Imagine Film Festival. Additionally, her 3Lab/ Z@pp pilot "Robby de Neuro" (2024) premiered at CineKid.

Alina Milkina
Dutch Talents to Cannes project | Mind your Step
Alina Milkina is a Ukrainian Netherlands-based filmmaker. While growing up in Alchevsk, Ukraine, Alina used to watch a lot of USSR animation, which influenced her future signature as a visual storyteller. She graduated from Minerva Academy in Groningen, Netherlands, with a specialization in illustration and obtained a master’s degree in animation from AKV St. Joost in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Her graduation film Morning Grass premiered at Annecy in 2021. After working for several years in the Dutch film industry as a 2D animator, Alina focused her practice on independent filmmaking. Her animated film COO-RAGE premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival in 2024. In her storytelling, she portrays themes of longing for home, the courage to follow one’s inspirations, and the poetry of simple things in our surroundings.
