SHIFT Film Festival 2019 announces winners

Terminus and Evaluation both win two awards.

During the fifth edition of SHIFT Film Festival on Saturday evening September 14th, six awards were handed out to the winning filmmakers. A professionals and youth juries chose the winners of the Official Competition in several categories. Next to that the audience chose their favourite film.

Award winners

The following awards were handed out:

  • Best FilmTERMINUS, by Jan Pool
  • Special Jury Prize – EVALUATION, by Eyal Tzadik & Yotam Kislev
  • Youth Jury Award – TERMINUS, by Jan Pool
  • Audience Award – EVALUATION, by Eyal Tzadik & Yotam Kislev
  • Encouragement Award – Luca Meisters, with ELF
  • Best Pitch – Niels Bourgonje, with WOODLAND CEMETERY
  • Special mentions in the Best Pitch category – Willem Kagenaar with WAAGHALZEN & Sam van Zoest with MILLENNIALS

SHIFT Film Festival

The fifth edition of SHIFT Film Festival took place at ECI Cultuurfabriek in Roermond. In three days more than 60 filmmakers from the Netherlands and abroad met each other in inspiring workshops, networking activities and film programs. The festival welcomed 35 special guests, such as coaches and international (new) filmmakers. The festival attracted 900 visitors in 27 activities, from which 12 were by invitation only for a small group of filmmakers, such as the writers rooms and pitching contest.
