Finding your way
As a filmmaker, some things are very important: making films, obtaining funding and showing the film to the rest of the world out there! Around the globe there are so many great festivals and events that it is easy to lose track of what is happening. Among everything that is going on, it can be difficult to realistically assess which festival is the right one for your film.
Because of that CineSud Magazine started publishing monthly articles with the most interesting and promising international film festivals that you can submit to the following months. Next to that we give an overview of interesting funding options in the heart of the Netherlands, Belgium as well as Germany.

International Short Film Festival Oberhausen

BIFFF - Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival

Festival dates: April 6 - April 18
BIFFF is the biggest fantasy film festivals in the world. It welcomes you to a temple of fantasy, horror, science-fiction, thriller and surrealism in the heart of the capital of the European Union. More than 150 movies are shown in premiere in 3 comfortable theaters. Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Festival dates: March 31 - April 10

Festival dates: May 28 - May 29
The Zuidelijk Film Festival is a festival that focusses on short films by makers from North-Brabant, Limburg, Zeeland and Vlaanderen. A festival that brings together the living film culture of these regions in a special way. [Read more]
Newport Beach Film Festival
Submission deadline: February 5
Festival dates: April 8 - April 15
Founded in 1999, the Newport Beach Film Festival has emerged as the largest international cinema event in Southern California, attracting over 56,000 attendees to Orange County, CA. [Read more]
Palm Springs International ShortFest
Submission deadline: February 19
Festival dates: June 22 - June 28
