Meet the winners of the CineSud Talent Pitch 2024

CineSud Talent Pitch

De CineSud Talent Pitch richt zich specifiek op nieuw filmtalent. Door hun project te presenteren aan publiek en een professionele jury, maken ze kans op diverse prijzen die CineSud ter beschikking stelt. Tijdens het Euregion Film Forum op 16 maart in Maastricht, vond de eerste editie plaats van de Talent Pitch. Er waren drie prijzen te verdelen: de Best Talent Pitch ontving €1.000, de special mention €500 en een derde project ontving post-production ondersteuning vanuit CineSud. De pitchers waren Jor Broeder (In The Belly Of The Beast), Britt Beckers (Goed Genoeg?), Denise de Lange (Kocham Cie) en Arthur de Weerdt (Broken Honor).

In de week voorafgaand van het evenement, ontvingen de deelnemers pitch-training van Marie Lormeau. Tijdens de pitch zelf, presenteerden ze hun plannen aan het publiek en een professionele jury, bestaande uit Jeroen Daemen, Veerle de Wilde en Laurenz Otto.

Best Talent Pitch

Kocham Cie, Denise de Lange.

Denise de Lange ontvangt een bijdrage van €1.000 in haar project, beschikbaar gesteld door CineSud.

Jury statement:

"We award the best pitch and €1000,- production grant to a film which explores a complicated love story. It’s a film about communication in a relationship, hard by itself, but even more so when there’s a language barrier. The jury appreciates the personal approach of a delicate topic, with the potential of bringing a unique perspective on screen."

Special Jury Mention

Goed Genoeg?!, Britt Beckers.

Britt Beckers ontvangt een bijdrage van €500 in haar project, beschikbaar gesteld door CineSud.

Jury statement:

"The jury mention goes to a film that deals with very relatable topics for anyone in a relationship. Set to the confined arena of a campingsite, we believe that this film can, with the very personal involvement of the filmmaker, deliver an authentic ‘queer-story’."

Post-Production Grant

In The Belly Of The Beast, Jor Broeder.

Jor Broeder ontvangt de post-production grant beschikbaar gesteld door CineSud.

Jury statement:

"The CineSud Post-Production price will be granted to a pitch leaving the jury slightly puzzled and with more questions than answers... Which isn't always a bad thing! In a wild jungle of visional ideas, experimental concepts and the will to find their inner animal, "In the Belly of the Beast" by Jor Broeder has the potential to become an adventurous journey. We are curious to see out in the wild"
