Meet the winners of the Euregion Film Forum 2025

The tenth edition of the Euregion Film Forum (EFF) has come to a successful close, marking another milestone in its history. With a remarkable lineup of films and talented filmmakers, the event recognized outstanding achievements in the Euregion Shorts Competition and the CineSud Talent Film Pitch. Here are this year’s winners.

Euregion Shorts competition

The Euregion Shorts Competition showcased some of the most compelling short films, with a distinguished jury selecting the winners.

Best Film: Au Suivant by Marco Bolla and Jeanne Remi The jury described Au Suivant as a bold, free-spirited gem that remains true to its vision from start to finish. The film’s passion, evident both on and off-screen, captivates audiences and delivers a well-crafted, joyful experience.

Special Mention: Olli by Jeroen Mourmans The jury awarded a special mention to Olli for its masterful creation of an atmospheric and cinematic world. Despite its short form, the film unfolds a tense and eerie experience through strong visual and narrative choices. The jury expressed keen interest in Mourmans’ future projects.

Audience Award: Olli by Jeroen Mourmans With 140 audience members casting their votes, Olli emerged as the audience’s favorite, reinforcing its impact on viewers.

THe jury members of the Euregion Shorts competition were: Wensly Francisco, Sarah Lederman and Katharina Huber. The winner of the Best Film Award will receive €250. The Special Mention €100. 

CineSud Talent Film Pitch

No less than five emerging filmmakers pitched their film ideas in front of jury members Guido Franken, Marco Bolla and Pim Vogels. The winner will receive a production grant of €1000.

Best Pitch: If on a Summer’s Day a Girl by Elena Atalmi The jury praised Atalmi’s project as a promising and poetic portrait that feels sincere and personal. The cross-cultural elements and linguistic aspects intrigued the jury, while the international production approach was seen as particularly compelling. The jury is confident that this project will make excellent use of the pitch award and eagerly anticipates the final film.

Overwhelming response

With an overwhelming response from both the public and industry professionals, all program segments on Thursday and Friday were moved to the largest auditorium to accommodate the demand. Over 750 visitors attended the forum, and approximately 50 emerging filmmakers participated in masterclasses and the ShortsLab, DocLab, and Directors Village residencies.

The Forum closes tonight with a Euregion Shorts Special, with avant-premieres of several shorts made in the Euregion and programs of CineSud. The last remaining tickets can be bought here.
