Dutch Talents to Cannes

Brent Bosker graduated from the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in 2023 as a director and screenwriter. His graduation short, “Silent Waters,” won the NPO Fiction Talent Award at the Netherlands Film Festival. He is currently developing a new short and a feature film. He is also directing the feature “23 Letters from Vincent” which is currently in post-production. Next to narrative storytelling he directs short, poetic branded content productions as a freelancer. Born and raised in Friesland, a northern province of the Netherlands, Brent feels the urge to transcend these boundaries by seeking out subjects and themes that are universal and reflective of his world. In an intimate way, he contrasts the subjective experiences of his characters with a raw reality. His films tell honest and impactful stories about socio-cultural themes and ethical dilemmas, while exploring new perspectives and narrative forms.

Lore Loyens

Dutch Talents to Cannes project | Tussen Dag en Dauw

Lore Loyens is a film director based in Antwerp, Belgium. She graduated from KASK School of Arts in 2024 with a master’s degree in film direction. Her graduation film 'Where the Black Sand Burns' won the Award for Best Short Film at Filmfestival Oostende 2025. In the same year, she made 'Between Day and Dawn', which opened the International Short Film Festival Leuven. In 2023, she directed Subterranean, which premiered at Film Fest Gent and drew media attention for its innovative approach. Lore is currently developing her first feature film, 'Hike', within the LIM Residence program.

Lotte & Karlijn Milder

Fanny

Lotte and Karlijn Milder, aka the Milder Sisters are a film directing duo and, as their name suggests, actual sisters. Combining their expertise in acting and cinematography, the duo focuses on bringing untold, mostly female-driven stories to life. Their passion lies in directing fictional content, which made it a dream come true to recently shoot their first international period piece, Fanny. This project featured a country mixed cast and crew and was shot in the Netherlands, Hungary and Belgium. In 2026, the sisters will develop the script of their feature film debut, Masquerade, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed screenwriter Jolein Laarman and supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, expanding the narrative introduced in Fanny. With the same team, they are also developing another short period piece about the world’s first female car racer. Emotionally rich and visually refined, their films are shaped to connect with a diverse audience. 

Sophie Olga de Jong

Dutch Talents to Cannes project | Hondenleven

Sophie Olga de Jong (1987) has been working as an animation artist and director. She made commissioned animations for several Dutch television programs, international museums and has been working as a traditional animator on movies like Where is Anne Frank, by Ari Folman and They Shot the Piano Player by Javier Mariscal and Fernando Trueba. Together with Sytske Kok Sophie developed the independent animated short film Cycle (2018), which got selected for numerous international film festivals. In 2022 Sophie received a nomination for the Victoriefonds Cultuurprijs, for which she got the opportunity to exhibit her animations and drawings in Het Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar. The jury described her work as poetic, sensitive and enigmatic.

Yentl Vlachos

Dutch Talents to Cannes project | Riffel

Yentl Vlachos is a Dutch director working in both film and theatre. She studied at the Acting School in Heerlen (2013–2017), where she developed a strong foundation in storytelling and performance, before continuing with a degree in Directing at the Academy for Theatre in Tilburg (Fontys School of the Arts), graduating cum laude in 2021. During her studies she also completed a minor in Film Directing within the Creative Choice program at Fontys, where her focus shifted increasingly towards film and socially engaged storytelling.

Vlachos has directed over 100 music videos for internationally known artists, developing a visual style that combines emotional intensity with striking imagery. Her debut narrative film WETBOY (2025) marks her transition into fiction filmmaking. The same year she was supported by CineSud ShortsLab for the development of her second film, Riffel.

Her work explores societal themes rooted in personal experiences and often focuses on the perspective of younger generations. Through intimate and visually driven storytelling, Vlachos addresses themes that resonate both locally and universally, inviting audiences to reflect on their role in a changing society.
