CineSud stimulates new filmmakers and professionals in several ways. We organise training programs, Writers Rooms and offer filmmakers lots of other activities. Via our Pitch Forums we are able to offer filmmakers small production grants, which they can use to co-finance their next projects. The winner of the SHIFT Film Pitch will receive a production grant of €2.000, which has to be used for producing the project that is pitched.
SHIFT Film Pitch 2023 is coached by talented producer Nicky Onstenk from IJswater Films. The training sessions are obligatory and take place online on September 12 and 14 between 10.00 and 12.00 AM.
CineSud does not cover travel or accommodation expenses for pitch participants.

Pim is a writer, director and co-producer. Film is all Pim surrounds himself with, as he is an editor for the Cinedome magazine, founder of the filmfestival Flickers, and cinema manager. As a screenwriter he likes to embrace the absurd, which will become very evident in his next project Hold on tight.

On his eightieth birthday, Hans, who is suffering from dementia, stays over at his son's and daughter-in-law's place. They are not eager for his presence, and are devising a plan to 'take him away'.
Sukhmani Lunial
Armchair with Honey
Sukhmani is a recent graduate from Academy Minerva in Groningen. She has spent her fine art study focusing on bringing artistic visuals into film. She has worked on several film projects in the past couple of years, picking up the needed skills to make an efficient film set. Besides that, she has also made a few films of her own thus honing the art of translating narratives on paper to screen.

Sem Dingemans
Automaton
Sem was born in 1996 and grew up in Venlo in the Netherlands. After working as a crew member on several short films he started to direct his own short movies. He just graduated from de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht with his short drama Goudhaan. Most of his short films are based on personal story’s. These grounded stories he likes to combine with pronounced locations what can elevate the subject. Added with a bit of comedy and absurdism, he strives to craft films that are both entertaining to watch and carry a profound message.

Nicky Onstenk
Nicky Onstenk (Producer, The Netherlands) completed her Bachelor of Media & Culture at the University of Amsterdam in 2015. In 2019 she graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy with the short fiction film Porfotto, which was nominated for a Student Oscar. After graduation, she started at IJswater Films as a junior producer. The documentary Dunya (directed by Tim Bary) premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival 2021. The short film Vlekkeloos (directed by Emma Branderhorst) won the main prize for the best short (youth) film at Berlinale 2022. Currently, there are several projects, both documentary, and fiction, long and short, in development and production. Magma by Luca Meisters and produced by IJswater Films premiered at Berlinale 2023.

Sammy Wisniewski
Sammy Wisniewski has become a household name within the Limburg film world over the years. She produced with her company Samski productions a series of Limburg short films and 48-hour projects. Last year, she worked on a project for The Rogues, where she served as production manager for Guido Coppis' feature film Pijn. Her last project was for Labyrint film, where she worked as executive producer and production manager for Ayla Satijn's short film Yildiz.
Henry Disotuar
Henry Disotuar was born and raised in the suburbs of Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city of Cuba. At the age of 10 his mother remarried and they both moved to Belgium. This significant turn of events marked him as teenager and is omnipresent in the director’s work. Remarkable in the work of the young director is the accomplishment of deep narrative, complex characters and the ability to tell a compelling yet subtle story. Diversity, the blurring margin of cultures and dysfunctional family ties are some of the reappearing themes in his character driven stories.
The first half of 2018, the director received funding from the Flemish Audiovisuals Fund (scenarioatelier), to start writing his first feature film. He was also granted funding for the creation of his new short film, Grapefruit. The project is planned to be ready in the first half of 2019. Grapefruit will be produced by De wereldvrede and Finders Keepers. The young director also works as programmer for the Filmfestival of Ostend and the Youth Filmfestival JEF.
Lukas Koll
Lukas Koll is a German film producer and managing partner of the production company arkanum pictures. Lukas first studied Film Studies, Philosophy and Art History at the University of Mainz, and later Film Production at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. He spent two years in New Zealand and Sydney, Australia, where he completed a course at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS). Lukas has produced numerous short films, music videos and documentaries, including several international co-productions, and has worked on many other projects, such as the Student Academy Award-winning animated short film Laika & Nemo. His graduation film at the Film University Eisspin, the oh so Terrible is the first film to adapt a fantasy novel by Walter Moers with a star-studded cast for the big screen. Lukas is co-founder and managing partner of the innovative development and production company arkanum pictures, based in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
