Euregion Shorts Competition
The Euregion Shorts Competition brings together emerging filmmakers from all across the Euregion for an evening full of impactful storytelling, fresh perspectives, and innovative filmmaking.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet the directors, hear all about their ideas and processes, and feel the energy in the room as we find out live who will be crowned the winner of the Best Short Film!

GekkigGeit is a 9-minute tragicomic road trip about unprocessed trauma, miscommunication, and... a goat. Set in rural Netherlands, the film explores the aftermath of a stillbirth through absurdity and tenderness, as a couple’s bottled-up grief finds an unexpected release on their way to a bizarre goat-themed festival.

Music teacher Esther struggles to keep control of her chaotic class, until she impulsively slaps Menno, a disruptive student. To her surprise, order returns, and her authority grows. The new peace in the classroom gives her satisfaction and makes her act more strict, which culminates in a confident performance during the open day. But when Menno suddenly bursts in and the chaos flares up again with accusations, Esther stubbornly continues to conduct, while reality slowly catches up with her.
