Het Euregion Film Forum is hét film-event in het hart van onze bruisende grensregio. Met onder meer (voor)premières van de nieuwste films uit onze regio, de Crossborder Film Conference, FilMatch, masterclasses en diverse pitches kunnen zowel nieuwe filmmakers als gevestigde professionals hun hart ophalen 15-18 maart in en rondom Lumière Cinema Maastricht.
Euregion Film Forum 2024
2024 markeert alweer de negende editie van ons Euregion Film Forum. Dit keer is het thema 'More local, More diverse'. Want hoe dichter bij de bron, hoe autenthieker, en hoe autenthieker, hoe universeler. Traditiegetrouw presenteren we een programma vol inspirerende en aansprekende mogelijkheden voor makers en publiek.

Programma
Ga tijdens de Crossborder Film Conference met ons in gesprek over co-productie, ontwikkeling van lokale verhalen en internationale promotie van producties in onze grensregio, laat je inspireren door gastsprekers en case-studies en doe mee aan de Crossborder Film Pitch, FilMatch en netwerk drinks. Gasten zijn onder meer: Bart van Langendonck (Savage Film), Matthijs Wouter Knol (European Film Academy), Fleur Winters (Big Blue), Yort Jansen (Flanders Image) en Florian Heinzen-Ziob (Fontane Film Production). De dag wordt gemodereerd door Dorien van de Pas.
Tijdens het Crossborder Film Forum vindt ook de Crossborder Film Pitch en FilMatch plaats.

Voorpremière van het speelfilmdebuut Bijt van het Limburgse talent Guido Coppis, die eind januari in wereldpremière gaat tijdens het IFFR. De film werd opgenomen in Limburg en Noord-Rijn Westfalen.
Mark (Reinout Scholten van Aschat) lijdt aan een intense vorm van zelfhaat, die zich vertaalt in verwaarlozing, verkilling en destructief gedrag. Als hij Lisa (Frieda Barnhard) ontmoet, ontstaat er een liefdevolle, maar bizarre band. Zijn gedrag bevrijdt haar van haar engelachtige juk, maar bovenal houdt haar gedrag Mark een spiegel voor. Dit zorgt ervoor dat hij zijn schild laat zakken, waarna hij eindelijk hulp begint toe te laten.
In aanwezigheid van de regisseur Guido Coppis en gedeputeerde Cultuur van de Provincie Limburg Jasper Kuntzelaers.

Officiële kick-off van de start van het netwerk Screen Talent NL. Na de lancering in 2021, een succesvolle lobby in 2022 en 2023 en de introductie van het ontwikkel- en productietraject Het Beloofde Land, markeert 2024 - met de toegezegde bijdrage vanuit het Ministerie van OCW - de officiële start van het Screen Talent NL-netwerk.
Tijdens deze kick-off bijeenkomst maken alle (aspirant)partners kennis met elkaar en gaan ze in gesprek over de toekomst.

During this masterclass the participants will explore the world of scriptwriting, learning about the key elements that make a great scene. The masterclass will equip them with the tools and knowledge necessary to create captivating scenes with concrete change and character development.

Sluit aan bij de netwerklunch!
During this masterclass the participants will explore: how to break free from the script and direct a scene as a director not a writer, how to layer the scene on your own and then with actors, how to direct the actors. The Masterclass mostly covers the scene and actors, it does not touch the technical aspect of filmmaking.

Meet the members of the jury panel who will deliberate on the Made in Euregion | Short Film Competition and the CineSud Talent Pitch 2024.
Laurenz Otto
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia and graduated with a B.A. in Film Directing at the internationale filmschule köln (2021) Laurenz Otto's graduation film Against All Odds (2022) was part of NEST competition at San Sebastian Film Festival and has been awarded at Internal Short Film Festival Oberhausen. His latest short Arschschiessen is in post-production and will start its distribution process in 2024. Currently Laurenz is writing his first feature film Dead Bodies Don't Run (funded by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW) and developing a fictional (web-)series.
In March 2023 Laurenz Otto won the Special Jury Mention at the previous edition of the Euregion Film Forum with Against All Odds and we are very happy to have him back with us in Limburg!
Veerle de Wilde
Veerle De Wilde is a Dutch-Belgian filmmaker based in Ghent , Belgium. She is a TSFM Word-Frame and Interfilm Script Pitch alumna. Veerle studied psychology at Ghent University and audiovisual arts at KASK School of Arts. In 2020 she graduated with the short film Spaceboy, which was selected for film festivals around the world (such as the 2021 Brussels Short Film Festival) and has won multiple awards. In summer 2023 Veerle shot her latest short film Ultraviolet, an ambitious co-production between the Netherlands and Belgium.
Jeroen Daemen
Jeroen Daemen (1990) has been producing audiovisual productions since 2005, both commissioned and on his own initiative, collaborating with various parties domestically and internationally. Prior to co-founding the film production company Upendi Film & Motion Graphics with director Maarten Diederen, he worked as a junior creative on various television formats at Endemol Shine.
His expertise in the field of film has closely involved him in the organization of the internationally operating Dutch Mountain Film Festival. In recent years, he has directed the documentaries ‘Hoop’ and ‘From AFCENT to JFCBS’ and worked on a variety of productions as the director of photography, most notably the feature film ‘Stoffig Licht’.

Rosanne Pel
Rosanne Pel first studied at the Utrecht School of Arts where she graduated in directing and scenario fiction in 2011 before attending the Netherlands Film Academy where she received her master's degree in 2015. Her debut film Light as Feathers premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2018. Among the many notable nominations and awards it received, the film was nominated in the Best Debut Film category at the Nederland Film Festival 2018 and won the jury award at the Brussels International Film Festival in 2019. Her second feature film received development subsidies from both the Amsterdam’s Fund of the Arts and the Netherlands Film Fund. The film will be produced by Family Affair Films.
