The members of our professional jury lended us their expertise to decide on the winners for the Best Euregion Film and Special Jury Mention. Members of the jury were Dutch director of photography Jeroen Daemen, Belgian director Veerle de Wilde and German director and 2023 winner of the Special Jury Mention of the Made in Euregion Short Film Competition, Laurenz Otto.

Best Euregion Film

Daydrift, Tim Jans (Belgium)

Jury Statement:

"From the very first shot, this film takes us to a realistic and brutal setting. Great casting and beautiful storytelling through sound and image convey a touching and relatable story, that makes you feel for the character immediately. Therefore, the jury would like to award Best Euregion Film to Daydrift by Tim Jans."

Special Jury Mention

Hakketuf, Laurens van Herk (Belgium)

Jury Statement:

"The Special Mention for the Made in Euregion Short Film Competition goes to a film leaving the jury with the strong feeling f originality and courage for the absurd. This film took us on an intense family-fantasy journey in the countryside. "Hakketuf" made us smile and wonder what the hell was going on. We are curious to see future projects from the creative team which brought us "Hakketuf". Keep going!"

Audience Award

Self Portrait, Laura Huygen (The Netherlands)

With most of our audience voting for her touching documentaire, Laura Huygen received the Audience Award. We congratulate Laura and are happy that her work resonated with the audience.

  • Special Shout out

Despite it not winning any prices, the jury wished to highlight the movie Lights from Pepijn Tebrunsvelt. Of this film they declared:

"As the jury we would like to give a shout out to one of the film in the selection: this film is in this competition a bit out of place and therefore hard to compare to the other films we’ve seen but it was very well executed, beautifully shot and original in the way the maker himself was involved as a character in the film. So we want to give our own extra spicy special mention to the film Lights by Pepijn Tebrunsvelt."
